Great Falls’ Center for Advanced Vein Care Montana is pleased to announce that it will be merging with Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic (RMVC). Not only will this continue to expand the ability of RMVC to meet patient
demand throughout the region, RMVC will also gain the best medical talent in the field by partnering with Dr. Mike Orcutt, Clinic Director in Great Falls, and a surgeon for over 20 years. “I was attracted to RMVC because not only are they the region leader in vein care, having performed over 15,000 procedures,” said Dr. Orcutt, “but, I really subscribe to and believe in the effectiveness of both educating patients and partnering in their care. I couldn’t be more pleased to be joining the RMVC team.” “We couldn’t be more excited to expand our services to the Central Montana region,” said Dr. “Bo” Johnson, M.D., founder of RMVC. “Dr. Orcutt is an extremely dedicated and talented physician who will continue our long tradition of providing excellent vein care.” Dr. Orcutt will continue as the Great Falls Clinic Director, as RMVC’s facilities now include Cody, Wyoming; Billings, and Great Falls, Montana.
Vision for Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic
from Founder, Dr. James J. Johnson “Bo”, MD, FACS
When I founded Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic in 2006, I had a multitude of goals in mind. First and foremost was beginning an educational campaign designed to educate both the general public and physicians on vein care symptoms, treatment, and long-term management. Despite the fact that minimally invasive vein procedures have been around for nearly 16 years now, there remains, in both patients and physicians, a lack of knowledge about the symptoms and treatments available for vein disease.
Too often, I see patients who have suffered a great decrease in their mobility, as a result of vein disease, which has negatively impacted their lifestyle. You do not have to suffer from these debilitating symptoms and concurrent lifestyle changes. Our treatments take less than an hour, can be done in our office, and are covered by Medicare/Medicaid or insurance. Our patients can resume most normal activities immediately.
I want our patients to have full access to our physicians and staff, and our expertise on vein care in a multitude of ways. Therefore, we also make ourselves available to patients by attending a series of Health Fairs and Women’s Expos across the state this spring in Butte, Ennis, Big Timber, and Plentywood, Montana, as well as Thermopolis, Powell, and Worland, Wyoming.
If you are unable to attend a health fair or one of our outreach clinics, our website, www.rocky-mountainveinclinic.com, is a great resource and place to access information. If at any time you have a question and would like to speak to a doctor directly, we encourage you to simply pick up the phone and call us. You won’t have to wait for your appointment to get your questions answered. I believe that we are a resource on vein disease, first and foremost.
When I created RMVC, I also wanted to design an environment where patients could relax as much as possible and was both warm and inviting. I wanted something that was unlike the cold, sterile hospital treatment rooms, but instead had a calming and reassuring effect on patients, much like being in their own home. Towards that end, I am very proud of our clinics in Billings, and Cody. All are designed with the patient’s comfort in mind and create a calming, relaxing environment. We will be remodeling the Great Falls clinic to conform with the designs of our other clinics.
My guiding philosophy, however, is the belief that our patients are partners in their care. I believe strongly that the process of educating patients, determining a treatment plan, and developing a long-term care plan for vein disease cannot be done without the complete participation and buy-in of our patients. The Personalized 6-Step Treatment Plan that allows us to do just that, making our patients partners in their care.

Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic Training Facility for the Latest Vein Treatments Available
“Since I founded RMVC in 2006, we have performed over 15,000 vein procedures,” said Dr. “Bo” Johnson, MD. “Not only does this make us the regional leader in vein care it also reflects the success of our patient-focused philosophy that sets us apart; including our 6-step personalized treatment plan and one of the most informative and innovative websites available where patients can read about and even watch videos of actual vein procedures being performed.”
– Dr. “Bo” Johnson
Since 2011, RMVC has been selected as one of a few vein clinics in the nation to be a premier training facility. In 2011 and 2012 by Vascular Solutions, in 2013 by both Vascular Solutions and Covidien, and in 2015 by Medtronics.
Being designated as a training facility means that doctors wanting to gain experience and expertise in the use of the latest technology for the successful treatment and management of venous disease will be trained by Dr. Johnson and the skilled staff at RMVC.
Why is RMVC able to offer these treatments versus other vein treatment facilities?
Being the regional leader in vein care means that RMVC, having been selected as a training facility, is able to offer the most innovative vein treatments available, like VenaSeal; a procedure that uses a medical adhesive instead of heat or radiofrequency to treat varicose veins. In addition, Dr. Johnson is often called upon by the American College of Phlebology to participate in panels and provide seminars on vein care.
