Dr. James L. “Bo” Johnson II, MD, FACS
Dr. Johnson, founder of the Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic, is a board-certified general surgeon and was the first physician in Montana and Wyoming to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine. He began performing Endovenous Laser Therapy in 2004, and has successfully performed over 6,000 of these endovenous ablation procedures. Dr. Johnson, a third-generation physician, is known for his dedicated and compassionate care of patients and for his medical professionalism. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a Diplomate of the American Board of Phlebology. Dr. Johnson believes strongly in giving back and dedicates two weeks out of each year to travel to third-world countries to provide a full range of medical care. Dr. Johnson and his wife Deborah, a pharmacist, have four children and reside in Cody, Wyoming.
Dr. Michael Orcutt, MD
A native Montanan, Dr. Michael Orcutt was raised on the family farm east of Conrad. He attended medical school at the University of Washington, surgical training at the University of Texas San Antonio, and performed his vascular surgery fellowship in Pennsylvania. In 1985, he returned to North Central Montana to practice general and vascular surgery in Great Falls. In 2004, he began utilizing endovenous laser therapy (EVLT) and other minimally invasive techniques to treat varicose veins. His sole focus is to provide the highest quality care to patients suffering from varicose vein disease. In addition to being a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, he is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. Further, he is certified by the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine, a member of the American Venous Forum, and a registered vascular technologist (RVT). Dr. Orcutt and his wife Lisa, an RN, live in Great Falls with two Labrador retrievers. Hunting, fishing, traveling, and camping are some of Dr. Orcutt’s other passions.
Dr. Daniel F. Alderman, MD
A native of Kansas City, Dr. Daniel F. Alderman MD attended the University of Missouri-KC Medical School. After a residency in Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the Medical University of South Carolina, he entered private practice. Over the past 20-years, he has been a partner and owner of Florence Radiological Associates, East Cooper Imaging Consultants, Intercity Radiology, and Advanced Imaging and Interventional Consultants. From 2004 to 2015, Dr. Alderman practiced with Intercity Radiology at Bozeman Deaconess Hospital. He has performed thousands of complex image-guided interventional procedures including endovascular angioplasty, stenting, atherectomy, thrombolysis, thrombectomy and embolization. Dr. Alderman has also worked as an independent contractor and served as the Medical Director at numerous hospitals. Board certified by the American Board of Radiology, with a Certificate of Added Qualification (CAQ) in Interventional Radiology, Dr. Alderman is a member of the American Roentgen Ray Society, the Society of Interventional Radiology, and the American College of Phlebology. Dr. Alderman, his wife, Amy, and their four children reside on a ranch on the East Gallatin River (which they have placed into a conservation easement to protect from future development) where they enjoy fly-fishing, archery hunting, horseback riding and skiing.

Ben Hoffman, PA-C, Physician Assistant
Ben was raised in Eastern Montana, and has lived in Billings since 1991. He has worked in healthcare for over 30 years as a Registered Nurse and Physician Assistant. Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, Ben is also a member of the American Association of Physician Assistants. He joined RMVC in 2009 and assists with initial patient evaluations, VNUS, EVLT, Microphlebectomy, and Sclerotherapy procedures. While Ben finds his work at RMVC rewarding and challenging, he enjoys a rich life with his wife Julie, hunting buddy Sage (English Setter), many kids, and grandchildren. When not at work, he’s generally out hunting, fishing, skiing, or exploring the backcountry of Montana and Wyoming.
Randi Ellis, PA, Physician Assistant
Randi grew up in Billings and graduated from Senior High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology and Pre-Medicine from Ball State University in Indiana. She then received her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Study’s from Finch University of Health Sciences/Chicago Medical School with honors in 1999. Randi started her career in Kenosha, WI working in Orthopedics. She returned to Billings in 2005 with her husband and daughter to be closer to family and the Montana way of life. Outside of work, Randi and her husband spend most of their time following their daughter and son to various sporting events either as coach, spectator or both. Other interests include golfing, skiing, and laughing with family and friends. Randi joined RMVC in 2017. She does initial patient evaluations, ultrasound review, sclerotherapy and assists Dr. Johnson as needed.
Lacy Bangert, Practice Administrator
Lacy is a native of Montana. She grew up on her family ranch in the Central Montana town of Grass Range. After graduating from Grass Range High School, Lacy attended the University of Montana in Missoula. While attending University of Montana, she competed on the college rodeo team. She graduated from Missoula with a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Health Science. After leaving Missoula, Lacy moved to Billings to pursue her Master’s Degree in Health Administration, which she graduated with in the fall of 2008. After working in the medical field for 5 years Lacy joined the Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic team in December of 2011. In her spare time Lacy enjoys spending time with her husband and family, rodeoing, working on the family ranch, and helping her husband with his construction company.
Sarah Yarde, Registered Nurse, ASN
Sarah attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and the University of Montana before completing her studies and graduating from Montana State University – Billings in 2005, with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Nursing (LPN). A member of the American College of Phlebology, Sarah is a native of Billings, and has been with RMVC since August 2006. She returned to school in 2008 to become a Registered Nurse, and graduated in 2010 with an Associate of Science degree in Nursing. She is our resident expert in ensuring the proper selection, sizing, and fit of our compression stockings. She also performs sclerotherapy and assists with RF ablation, Endovenous Laser therapy, and microphlebectomy procedures. She also helps head up our sister company, Avri Laser Aesthetics, in Billings and is a Certified Laser Specialist and Obagi Skin Care Consultant. Sarah enjoys traveling, camping, and spending time with her family.
Mary Derbyshire, Medical Assistant
Mary has worked for RMVC since December 2007, and brings with her 38 years of working in the medical field—both in patient care and billing. She assists in the front office on clinic days, and is part of the surgical team on procedure days. A Montana native, Mary grew up in Havre. She and her husband have lived in Billings most of their married life. Her son and daughter-in-law also live in Billings, along with two wonderful grandchildren.
Tana Willems, Medical Assistant
Tana is a native of West Yellowstone, MT. She attended school at Northwestern College in Powell, WY and MSU-Billings. She has worked in the medical field for over 10 years before joining RMVC in March of 2012. In her spare time Tana enjoys reading, baking, playing volleyball, and spending time with her family and friends.
Melanie Tolman, Receptionist
Melanie was born in Dickinson North Dakota. She moved to Billings when she was 8. She attended MSU-B. She has been in the medical field for over 20 plus years working as a receptionist/secretary. She is married with two boys and entourage of animals. Melanie enjoys helping her husband with his business, remodeling her house, arts and crafts of many varieties, camping, fishing and the company of her friends and family.
Carol Cunningham, Medical Billing Director
An Arizona native, Carol attended Glendale Community College and received an Associate Degree in General Business. In 1981, she and her husband relocated to Billings, Montana. Carol brings over 30-years of experience in insurance and patient billing. She joined the RMVC team in October of 2015. In her spare time, Carol enjoys snowmobiling, four-wheeling, gardening, and attending both Bronco and Avalanche games in Denver, Colorado.

Jessica Stutts, Physician Assistant
Jessica is a native Montanan, raised on her family’s farm/ranch in the Missouri River Breaks near Winifred, MT. She received her B.S. degree in both Horticulture Science and General Science Education from MSU with high honors. She then taught junior high and high school science for two years in Byers, CO, while her husband trained in dentistry. Transitioning to medicine, Jessica completed the University of Colorado’s Physician Assistant program. In 2011, she and her husband Adam relocated to Bozeman, MT, where he joined his family’s dental practice. Prior to joining Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic, Jessica worked as a Physician Assistant for the Billings Clinic in rehabilitation medicine. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, twin daughters, son and dogs. She also enjoys attending concerts and exploring the western outdoors.
Holley Woosley Vennes, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
Born and raised in Gallatin County, Holley grew up on a ranch in the tiny community of Sedan and currently resides there with her husband Tyler and daughter Teah. Holley attended Western Montana College in Dillon majoring in Health and Human Performance with an emphasis in Sports Medicine. She has worked as a Medical Assistant since 2006 and has been a member of the Bozeman branch of Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic since it opened. When not caring for patients at RMVC Holley enjoys working on her family’s ranch, skiing anywhere in the US but epically at Bridger Bowl, going on wild adventures with her daughter’s Girl Scout troop and spending time with her family, friends, horses, and very spoiled bulldog. She is also currently taking classes at Montana State University- Billings to earn a degree in Ultrasound.
Nikki Gray, Receptionist
Nikki was born and raised in Manhattan, Montana. She has been married to her husband JD for 15 years.Nikki has two children, Brodey and Braxton Her son Brodey swims for the Bozeman Hawks and BMA off season.Her daughter Braxton skis, plays basketball and plays fastpitch with the Bozeman Stealers.When not traveling all over the States watching their kids, she does photography, and hiking and likes to hang with friends.She also enjoys spending time with her two dogs, Smoke, and Ash.

Jennifer Williams, Physician Assistant
Jennifer graduated from Hastings College in Hastings Nebraska with a B.A. in math and biology. She then attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas where she was Valedictorian of her Physician Assistant class. Having grown up in an Air Force family Jennifer was born in Montana, raised in Nebraska and feels most at home in the West. Jennifer loves being able to raise her 3 children in the small-town atmosphere of Cody with her husband Cris, a High School science teacher at Cody High.
Before joining Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic, Jennifer worked as the Physician Assistant with Dr. Steve Mainini at the Cody Clinic. Outside of work, Jennifer is a volunteer health care provider at Heart Mountain Volunteer Clinic and is also a children’s ministry leader at her church.
Deborah Johnson, Pharm D, Clinical Specialist
Deborah graduated from Creighton University in 1992 with a Pharm.D. She has practiced in a variety of settings, including Retail Pharmacy and Hospital Pharmacy, and as a Clinical Pharmacist on the Renal Transplant Team at the University of Wisconsin. Most recently, she was an Adjunct Professor/Clinical Consultant at the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy. Deborah was involved in the establishment of Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic and is involved in patient care. Much of her time is spent raising four children.
Cindy Gifford, Office Administrator
A Wyoming native, Cindy moved from Casper to Cody in 1998. She began working with Dr. Johnson in his surgical practice in 1999, and has worked for Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic since its inception. When not at the office, Cindy enjoys fly-fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Shana Weiss, Medical Assistant
Shana is a native of Muskegon, Michigan where she graduated from Ross Medical Education Center as a Medical Assistant in 2010. She moved to Cody shortly after and joined our team. Shana is a Certified Laser Specialist and also assists Dr. Johnson with Endovenous Laser Therapy and Radiofrequency Ablation. Her hobbies include hiking, photographing wildlife, and spending time with her husband, family, and friends.
Angela Nelson, Office Coordinator
Angie is a native of Northern Montana, but relocated to Cody, Wyoming, in 2006. She has many years of experience working within the medical communities of Cody and Powell, Wyoming. Angie joined RMVC in June of 2012, and is enjoying the opportunity to learn a new aspect of medicine. Her hobbies include camping, four-wheeling, spending time with her family, and reading.
Cora is a Wyoming native and grew up in Cody. After high school she continued her education at Northwestern Community College in Powell Wyoming and later served in the United States Air Force in San Antonio Texas. Cora received certifications in medical coding, documentation and transcription. She returned to Cody in 2010 where she reconnected with her now husband and spent time working from home as a medical transcriptionist and raising her two beautiful kids. She recently worked locally as an MA and receptionist for an OBGYN. Cora joined RMVC in the fall of 2017 and is enjoying the opportunity to expand her medical skills in a new and evolving field of medicine. When not working her hobbies include; crafts with her daughter, camping, hiking, swimming, and spending time in the mountains with her family.

Jill Betz, Office Manager & Clinical Coordinator
Born and raised in upstate New York, Jill moved with her Air Force husband to Great Falls when he was transferred here 1991. She attended college at Great Falls College, Montana State University where she received an Associate of Science degree in the medical field. She has worked as a medical scheduler and office coordinator since 1996. She enjoys helping her husband at his wine store but mostly she enjoys her grandchildren, baking, gardening, and crocheting.
Shayne Johnson, MA
Shayne is a Montana native raised in Havre and Great Falls. She has been in the medical field for 17 years starting in Family Medicine then Cardiology. Shayne and her husband Jeremy have two boys Thain and Briggs who are avid outdoorsmen. She loves gardening, reading, skiing, and camping with her 3 dogs.
Julie Flesch, Nurse Practitioner
Julie Flesch grew up all around the world, but has called Montana home since her family first moved to Butte in 1982. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Eastern Montana College (1992) in Billings, and then went on to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in nursing (2000) and her Master’s Degree in nursing (2011) from Montana State University. She worked most of her career as an RN in Emergency medicine in Great Falls and Billings. She practiced Family Medicine for almost 7 years prior to joining Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic in November of 2018. She has a teenage son and has been dating her best friend for the past 10+ years. They enjoy spending time at their cabin on Holter Lake, spending time on their boat surfing, and generally being outdoors. Julie has a special passion for the Montana Air National Guard here in Great Falls, where she serves as a key spouse. She also serves as Co-President of her son’s lacrosse team Board (Go FURY!!!). Julie does initial patient evaluations, ultrasound review, sclerotherapy, and assists Dr. Orcutt as needed.
Wendy Morris, Medical Assistant
Wendy was born and raised in Great Falls. She joined the team in July 2019 as a medical assistant. She enjoys camping and boating, football, reading and spending time with her dog. She lives in Great Falls with her fiance Travis.
Jona Brown, Medical Assistant & Insurance Coordinator
Jona was born and raised in Great Falls. She is a mother of two and grandmother to three beautiful girls. She has worked in medical field for the past seven years as a scheduler. Wanting to do more in medical field, she finished CNA classes and did some home health care. She likes to watch and play all sports but loves spending most of her time with her children and granddaughters.
Michelle Dillon, RVT RDMS RDCS RT(R)
Michelle is a native of Billings. She attended ultrasound school in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She has been registered in ultrasound since 1991 and holds registries in Vascular Ultrasound, Adult Echocardiography, Abdomen, and OB/Gyn. She lives in Billings with her husband Jerry and their four boys. Michelle is the owner of Big Sky Ultrasound LLC, which specializes in vascular ultrasound screening and provides all the ultrasound services for Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic in both Montana and Wyoming.
Amber Rittal - BSRT(R) M CT, RDCS
Amber was born and raised in eastern Montana. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiologic Technology from Minot State University and has worked in healthcare since 1995 as a radiologic technologist and sonographer. She started with Big Sky Ultrasound and Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic in 2011. Amber enjoys spending time with her family at their cabin near Flathead Lake, hiking in Glacier Park, skiing, boating, reading, and antique shopping.
Jamie Lindemann, RVT
Jamie was born and raised in southwest Minnesota. He graduated from the Vascular Technology program at Southeast Technical Institute in Sioux Falls, SD with honors, earning his associate degree. During that time, Jamie completed his clinical internship at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls. After completing his internship, Jamie worked at Altru Health hospital in Grand Forks, ND as a member of the Vascular Medicine and Radiology team. He joined the Big Sky Ultrasound and Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic team in June 2013. Jamie enjoys sports, hiking, fishing, hunting and spending time with his three children, enjoying the wealth of outdoor activities and adventures Wyoming has to offer.
Abby Craig, RVT
Abby was raised in Cottonwood, Arizona. She obtained a B.S. in Athletic Training from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana and an A.S. in Cardiovascular Technology for Vascular Ultrasound from Grossmont College in San Diego, California. From 2008-2016 Abby worked at Banner Bosewell Medical Center in Sun City, Arizona as a Registered Vascular Ultrasound Technologist. She joined Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic in 2016. Abby enjoys reading, photography, hiking, learning to play the violin, exploring the world through travel and spending quality time with her family and friends.
Heather Williams, Ultrasound Tech, RVT
Born and raising in the panhandle of Florida, Heather moved to Great Falls in 2014 after her husband was stationed at Malmstrom AFB. She received her associate degree at Northwest Florida State College then graduated from Florida Institute of Ultrasound in Pensacola, FL. She has been working in ultrasound since 2011 and holds registries in Vascular and OB/GYN. She joined Big Sky Ultrasound and the Rocky Mountain Vein Clinic staff in 2017. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three boys, traveling, and reading.
